In the case of the wiper system according to the invention which has two wiper levers which are fixed on the same wiper shaft, can be moved in an oscillating fashion by the latter and have wiper blades lying next to one another, one of the wiper blades can be moved beyond an apex line of a curvature and in the curved region can wipe an additional wiping zone, whereas the other wiper blade can be moved at most as far as the apex line of the curvature. As a result, quick cleaning of the windows is possible with a low outlay on power or energy. The wiper system is provided in particular for buses and lorries and is designed for cleaning an additional wiping zone in the region of the upper corner of the passenger side so that the driver is able to look into a rearview mirror arranged near to this corner on the outside of the vehicle.
