PURPOSE:To facilitate the setting of paper and the replacement of a ribbon and to enhance safety by eliminating the inadvertent forgetting of closure, by automatically opening and closing a part of a shuttle cover by the movement of a paper feed unit. CONSTITUTION:An L-shaped lever 10 is provided to the opening and closing part 3a provided to the upper part of a shuttle cover 3 and the intermediate part thereof is supported in a revolvable manner on a shuttle cover main body by a pin 11 and energized in a direction opening the opening and closing part 3a by a spring 12 to bring the leading end of the lever 10 into contact with the front surface of a paper feed unit 7 when the opening and closing part 3a is in a closed state and the paper feed unit 7 is present at a printing position. When the paper feed unit 7 is retracted in the direction C shown by an arrow, the lever 10 revolves in the direction D shown by an arrow by the tension of the spring 12 and the opening and closing part 3a of the shuttle over becomes an open state to facilitate the setting of paper or the replacement of an ink ribbon. When the paper feed unit 7 is returned to a printing state, the opening and closing part 3a is again closed and the inadvertent forgetting of closure is prevented. |
