PURPOSE:To prevent dielectric breakdown from being generated, by forming a cover for covering coil end sections, as a mold, to inject resin into the internal section of the cover, and by impregnating the coil end sections with the resin. CONSTITUTION:A linear induction motor 20 is fitted on the lower side of the truck of a car body, by a bearing member, and is set to be confronted with a reaction plate set on a track. So far as the motor 20 is concerned, coils 10 are contained in a plurality of slots arranged on a central core 9, and the respective coil end sections 11 project from both the left and right sides of the core 9. The coil end sections 11 are covered over all the full length in the longitudinal direction, with a cover 22 via a space 21, and on the external surface of the cover, a plurality of cooling fins 23 are formed, and a resin injecting slot 24 communicating with the space 21 is set. Through the slot 24, the resin 25 of high thermal conductivity with insulating property is injected, and is sealed and hardened. Then, the coil end sections 11 and the cover 22 are integrally composed, and dielectric breakdown is prevented.
