PURPOSE:A recording medium material high in speed of absorbing an ink and free from disorders in ink dots even when the ink dots overlaps on each other, wherein an ink-receptive coated layer having liquid-passing cracks is provided on a liquid-absorptive base. CONSTITUTION:For example, a coating material comprised of 100pts.wt. of a porous white-hued inorganic pigment having ionic property on the surfaces of particulates, such as zeolite, calcium carbide having an average particle diameter of not larger than 1mum or silica having an average particle diameter of not larger than 20mum and 5-20pts.wt. of a resin component such as PVA or polyvinyl butyral is applied onto the liquid-passing base 1 consisting of a porous material such as a paper or a porous plastic film in a quantity of 2-5g/m<2>, followed by drying to obtain the objective recording material wherein flaky coated films 3 are arranged in a two-dimensional manner closely to each other through irregularly shaped cracks 4. |
