PURPOSE:To prepare a product having an optional molecular weight distribution by providing an opening for feeding the substances to be agitated and a discharge opening of a product, partitions installed vertically to a rotating tank and having an opening at the lower sections and dividing the inside of a cylindrical container into two zones and the like. CONSTITUTION:When carrying out, for instance, vapor phase polymerization of olefin, raw gas and a cooling agent circulating system are connected with an upstream side zone and a downstream side zone respectively, and raw gas and a cooling agent are fed to said zones respectively, while a catalyst containing transition metal compound is fed from an opening 10 for feeding the substances to be agitated.
