PURPOSE:To reduce a shock at the time of speed change by connecting a supercharger to an engine output shaft via a transmission mechanism with stages and providing a one-way clutch for cutting a low gear stage off of said engine output shaft at the time of speed change from said low gear stage to a high gear stage on said transmission mechanism with stages. CONSTITUTION:In a supercharger 9, an intake air is supercharged in an operating chamber 35 by the rotation of a pair of rotors 34 provided in a casing 31 in the mutually opposite directions. In this case, a transmission mechanism 10 with stages is provided on one side of the supercharger 9. And, the transmission mechanism 10 with stages consists of a first input shaft 41 which is rotatably supported by the casing 31 while being opposite to a lower rotor support shaft 36, a pair of reduction gears 42, 43 which are provided in between the first input shaft 41 and an upper rotor support shaft 36, a one-way clutch 44 provided in between the upper rotor support shaft 36 and the reduction gear 43, and a second input shaft 45 which is connected to the lower rotor support shaft 36 while being rotatably provided with respect to the first input shaft 41.
