发明名称 METHOD FOR DRIVING BUBBLE JET PRINTER HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce an effect of cavitation force to a heating resistor, by a method wherein, after the heating resistor is supplied with power for the generation of a bubble, the heating resistor is again supplied with power once or more before the bubble breaks. CONSTITUTION:A bubble jet printer head is so constructed that the space between a substrate 1 containing a heating resistor and a nozzle plate 2 is filled with ink 3. With the application of voltage between electrodes 14, 15, a current passes through the heating resistor 13, and the heating resistor 13 generates heat to generate a bubble 4 in the ink 13 thereon. Under the pressure of the bubble 4, the ink 3 at and around the nozzle plate 2 is jetted out of a nozzle. In this case, the power supply to the heating resistor is again carried out once or more during the time from the generation of the bubble to the break of the bubble, thus resulting in gentle temperature gradation of the bubble in shrinking/breaking. As a result, a bubble-break speed becomes lower, a cavitation force caused by a rapid break is deteriorated, and the damage to the heating resistor is reduced to a large extent.
