Universal joint

The joint comprises a head (1) and a holder (2) which have grooves in which are arranged rolling elements (5). The grooves have a length which allows the longitudinal displacement of the holder (2) relative to the head (1) with the position of the centre of the joint changing along the axis of the head (1). Machined into the holder (2) are slots in which there are strips (3, 12) for connecting the holder (2) to the neck of the work roll (4), which is separated from the head (1) with the aid of the partition wall (6). The joint furthermore comprises means for preventing the longitudinal displacement of the rolling elements (5) and a spring (7) which is arranged in a milled slot in the end of the head (1) on the side of the work roll (4). <IMAGE>
