PURPOSE:To reduce a crosstalk, by recording the tracking signals of adjacent tracks by time-deviating mutually, and performing tracking by comparing the levels of both signals in which the time deviation is corrected at the time of reproduction. CONSTITUTION:Three tracks N-1, N, and N+1 are provided adjacently on a recording medium 1, and the tracking signal (f) is recorded on an area shown as oblique line in figure, and a video signal V on a vacant part. In other words, no neighboring of the signals (f) occurs between adjacent tracks, and also, the video signal V is arranged between adjacent track parts. A medium 1 is constituted in such way, and a reproducing video signal generated at a head 2 is sent to a video processing circuit passing an HPF3, and the reproducing tracking signal (f), passing through an LPF4, is added on first and second gate circuits 5 and 6. Afterwards, the circuits 5 and 6 are turned OFF by a timing signal from a timing circuit 7, and the head 2 is traveled in the center of the track N whose signal level which coincides with those of the tracks (N-1) and (N+1).
