PURPOSE:To obtain both a sufficient transmission factor to visible rays and comparatively good conversion efficiency, by making an i-layer of amorphous semiconductor layers composed of a material whose energy band gap is larger than that of i-type amorphous silicon. CONSTITUTION:A transmissive solar cell is provided with the following parts: amorphous semiconductor layers 3 formed by serially laminating a p-layer 31, i-layer 32, and n-layer 33, transparent electrode layers 2 and 4 which are mounted on both surfaces of the amorphous semiconductor layers 3, and a glass plate 1 on which these layers are laminated. The i-layer 32 in said amorphous semiconductor layers 3 is formed of a material whose energy band gap is larger than that of i-type amorphous silicon. For example, the transparent electrode 2, amorphous semiconductor layer 3 of p-i-n structure, and the transparent electrode 4 are piled in the order of them on the glass substrate 1. The p-layer 31, the i-layer 32, and the n-layer 33 in the amorphous semiconductor layer 3 are formed of a-Si, a-SiC, and a-SiC, respectively, and a-SiC or fine crystal is usable for the n-layer 33. |
