PURPOSE:To equalize field density in an air gap easily and positively by mounting main pole pieces and auxiliary pole pieces onto the inner circumferences of a pair of cylindrical permanent magnets and forming small spaces among both pole pieces. CONSTITUTION:A pair of cylindrical permanent magnets 1 are faced oppositely through an air gap 2, and yokes 3 are set up on the outer circumferences of each permanent magnet 1 while discoid main pole pieces 4 are fitted onto inner circumferences, thus forming a magnetic circuit in which magnetic flux in the air gap 2 is directed in the axial direction of the permanent magnets 1. Auxiliary pole pieces 7 are mounted on the sides reverse to the air gap 2 sides of each main pole piece 4, and small spaces are shaped among the auxiliary pole pieces 7 and the main pole pieces 4. The minute spaces among the main pole pieces 4 and the auxiliary pole pieces 7 can be adjusted by an adjusting device 9 consisting of a plurality of adjusting screws 9a fitted to the outer circumferential sections of the auxiliary pole pieces 7 in the auxiliary pole pieces 7.
