PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer toner sharp in particle size distribution and good in developability characteristics at good yield by suspension polymerizing a polymerizable composition containing a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in a liquid dispersion medium containing a hardly-soluble inorganic fine powder and a compound combinable with this fine powder. CONSTITUTION:The fine hardly-soluble inorganic powder is rendered in a dispersion state by incorporating it together with the combinable treating agent in the liquid dispersion medium, such as water, and the monomer composition containing the polymerizable monomer, such as styrene, and the colorant, such as carbon black, is added into this liquid dispersion medium, and dispersed into suspended granules, and polymerized, thus permitting the monomer composition particles of desired particle size to be selectively stabilized by the presence of the fine dispersion stabilizer powder enhanced in dispersion stabilization performance for said particles, the monomer composition particles and the polymer particles to be sharpened in particle size distribution. |
