Power-assisted steering system

In variable power-assisted steering systems which adapt to the travelling conditions, there is the problem that when steering to the right, the flow passes through a throttling valve in a different direction to when steering to the left. The steering system comprises a hydraulic circuit in which a bypass flow coming from a section of a flow distributor circuit of a steering system, whilst the steering wheel is turned in the clockwise direction is directed, in one direction through an externally controlled, variable throttling valve into a fluid reservoir, in the same way as is a bypass flow coming from another section of the flow distributor circuit, whilst the steering wheel is turned in the anticlockwise direction. The steering system is used in motor vehicles. <IMAGE>
