The invention relates to a device for cleaning mechanical or electrical appliances or devices by means of sprayed-on cleaning liquids and compressed-air jets directed onto them. In order to obtain a mobile device which is independent of special disposal arrangements, the outgoing air, which is sucked off from the cleaning chamber 3 by means of a blower 30 via a first impact filter 13, is conveyed into a compensating chamber 31, from which it can, via further impact filters 33, enter a collecting space 34 which returns a substantial part of the cleaned blower air into the cleaning chamber 3 and which is provided with a draw-off space 36 which is delimited by a shroud 37 and which is followed by an outgoing-air line 40, via which the outgoing air, which has been cleaned by an activated-carbon filter 41, can pass into the room, in which the cleaning device is being operated. By returning a substantial part of the blower air into the cleaning chamber, for example for drying processes, it is only necessary to carry off to the outside relatively small air quantities which occur as leakage air. As a result of the two impact filters, the calming and the activated-carbon filter, a cleaning of the outgoing air is achieved, which is so extensive that it can be blown out harmlessly. <IMAGE>
