PURPOSE:To facilitate the use of fuel containing a small amount of carbon with no reformer required by generating power using fuel containing no carbon or an extremely small amount of carbon at an anode as well as using oxidizer gas at a cathode, so that no carbon is present. CONSTITUTION:Oxidizer gas O is fed to a cathode side 2 through a line 9, and simultaneously a part of it is introduced into a combustor 11 through a branch line 10. On the other hand, a fuel gas containing no carbon or an extremely small amount of carbon, e.g. pure hydrogen H, is directly fed to an anode 3 through a line 12, and simultaneously exhaust gas from the anode 3 is introduced into the combustor 11 to burn hydrogen contained in it, and then mixed with the oxidizer gas O flowing in the line 9. Since the fuel H fed to the anode 3 contains no carbon or an extremely small amount of carbon, if any, reformer is not required for the process. |
