PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a highly abrasion-resistant rubber composition free from lowering in the workability due to viscosity increase, by adding an SAF carbon black of specified property requirements to a natural rubber and/or a diene synthetic rubber. CONSTITUTION:A carbon black satisfying all of the following property requirements: (i) N2SA>=145m<2>/g (wherein N2SA: nitrogen adsorption specific surface area), (ii) N2SA/IA<=1.10 (wherein IA: iodine adsorption specific surface area), (iii) AREA-(-0.08N2SA+22.9)>=0 (wherein AREA: microscopically deter mined projection area), (iv) N2SA-CTAB<=15 (wherein CTAB: cetyl trimethylammonium bromide specific surface area) and (v) DBP-24M4DBP<=10 ml/100g (wherein DBP: dibutyl phthalate absorption) is added to a natural rubber and/or a diene synthetic rubber. It is preferable that the amount of this carbon black is in the range of 40-120pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. rubber.
