摘要 PURPOSE:To set an appropriate binarized threshold level, in case a shading correcting means is energized, and in case a binarizing processing by means of the fixed threshold level is performed by installing a variable amplifying means to change the amplification factor of an input picture signal, at the front stage of the shading correcting means. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constituted as follows. In a picture reading device, provided with the shading correcting means A, which sets the binarized threshold level of the input picture signal according to the reading position of an original picture, the variable amplifying means B, which changes the amplification factor of the input picture signal, is installed at the front stage of the shading correcting means A, in the case that the shading correcting means A is energized, and in the case that the binarizing processing base on the fixed threshold level is performed. When the original is not set on a DES (document edge sensor) DES 48 to detect the tip end of the original, the signal of a signal level '0' is outputted at a signal line 48a, and further, when the original is set on the DES 48a, the signal of the signal level '1' is outputted at the signal line 48a.
