PURPOSE:To lower the extent of circumferential rigidity in a stepped part so favorably as well as to prevent step abrasion from occurring by forming a meridional section of a shoulder part into step-form, and notching a cross direction outer edge of each step into annular and zigzag forms in the tire circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:In this tire, a carcass ply is arranged between a symmetrical pair of beads, and at least two layers of belt layers 41 and 42 working as a set of tension members are vertically arranged between the carcass ply and a tread. And, a main groove 2 is annularly installed on a tread surface 1 in the tire circumferential direction. In this constitution, a shoulder part 3 forms its meridional section into step-form. And, a cross direction outer edge in this shoulder part 3 is notched in annular and zigzag forms in the tire circumferential direction. With this constitution, plural recessed parts (a) are formed into annular form, whereby the extent of circumferential rigidity in the stepped part is favorably lowered.
