PURPOSE:To provide the titled food or drink containing anhydrous crystalline maltitol or a molasses-containing crystal containing said maltitol, free from hygroscopicity, having fluidity, easily handleable without fear of sticking and adhesion and useful as a sweetener or a low-calorific food or drink. CONSTITUTION:The objective food or drink contains anhydrous crystalline maltitol or molasses-containing crystal containing said maltitol. The maltitol can be preferably produced e.g. by adding high-purity anhydrous crystalline maltitol or a molasses-containing crystal containing anhydrous crystalline maltitol having a relatively low purity to a supersaturated solution of maltitol as a seed crystal and crystallizing the maltitol. |
