PURPOSE:To obtain good cake by mixing excess sludge with drain incorporating organic high-molecular compd. and thereafter adding a flocculating agent and subjecting flocculated ppt. to dehydrating treatment. CONSTITUTION:Excess sludge produced from an organic drain treating apparatus is added into drain incorporating an organic high-molecular compd. such as gelatin, PVA, styrene, and maleic acid copolymer. Furthermore 500-1,000mg/l flocculating agent such as aluminum sulfate, ferrous sulfate, polyacrylamide and polyacrylic acid is added thereto and the mixture is agitated, flocculated and precipitated. The flocculated ppt. is subjected to dehydrating treatment with a filter press or the like to obtain a cake. Thereby excess sludge can be efficiently treated in a short time with energy saving as well.
