PURPOSE:To wind a provisionally laid wire surely on a drum without risk of misaligned winding by varying the speed of a wire guide member in horizontal movement in the axial direction of the drum according to the rotational speed of drum. CONSTITUTION:This arrangement includes a hydraulic motor 23 to drive a wire drum 12, a hydraulic pump 36 driven synchronously with the hydraulic motor 23, an oil pressure cylinder 37 driven by the oil pressure therefrom, and a wire guide member 100 which is driven by the oil pressure cylinder 37 and makes horizontal movement in the axial direction of the drum 12. When the hydraulic motor 23 is driven, the oil pressure pump 36 is driven in synchronization therewith, and the oil pressure cylinder 37 elongates and contracts. Therefore, the speed of horizontal motion of the wire guide member 100 varies in accordance with the rotational speed of the drum 12, and the provisionally wound wire C can be guided according to its wound condition, which assures certain winding without risk of misaligned winding.
