PURPOSE:To accurately perform measurement regardless of the curving of a surface to be measured, by measuring difference in level while a follower roller is allowed to follow a measuring reference surface. CONSTITUTION:Both of a follower roller 10 and a linear scale 12 measuring the movement of a measuring roller 11 are arranged to a follower roller frame 8 and a measuring frame 9 holding the measuring roller 11 is connected to the follower roller frame 8 through a spring. The measuring rod of the linear scale 12 is brought into contact with the upper surface of the measuring frame 9. Further, the follower roller 8 is connected to a fixing frame 7 through a spring. Therefore, when the fixing frame 7 is moved, the follower roller 10 moves along a reference measuring part 9 and, on the basis of the surface thereof, the difference in level with a difference-in-level measuring part 18 is measured by the measuring roller 11.
