PURPOSE:To apply the titled device to the synthesis of pictures and characters drawn on separate pages by reading both storage means for storing one picture of a sheet screen and a storage means for storing an other picture alternately and transferring the information to a thermal head one by one line. CONSTITUTION:A picture on a screen sheet 4 radiated by a fluorescent lamp is amplified inversely by an inverse amplifier 19, serial/parallel converted by a serial/parallel converter 20 and the 1st page of a synthesized copy is stored in a 1st data memory 22 by controlling the memory address at a direct memory access controller 21. The 2nd page of the synthesized copy is stored in a 2nd data memory 23 by similar operations. Then the output picture is a picture where the 1st page and the 2nd page exist in mixture by accessing the 1st data memory 22 and the 2nd data memory 23 alternately one by one line. Thus, the characters and pictures drawn on separate pages are synthesized and the result is outputted as one copy.
