[Also in Division A5] The novel compound a-methylbicyclo-[2,2,l]- heptane-2-methylamine is prepared by oximination of bicyclo-[2,2,1]-hept-2-yl methyl ketone by reaction with NH 2 OH.HCl and the subsequent reduction with Raney nickel alloy of the resultant oxime. Acid addition salts, e.g. the hydrochloride, hydrobromide, sulphate and maleate of α-mebhylbicyclo-[2,2,1]-heptane- 2-methylamine may also be prepared. |
