PURPOSE:To facilitate exact correction of horizontal misconvergence by applying voltages independently to respective convergence plates for deflecting beams disposed on both sides of a central beam. CONSTITUTION:Convergence voltages are applied independently to respective external convergence plates 8c and 8d for deflecting beams 9R and 9B which are positioned on both sides of a central beam 9G. Hence, even if there are errors on assembling an electron gun 6, scatterings on mounting the electron gun 6, errors on assembling a deflection yoke, and scattered errors on mounting the deflection yoke, then deflecting states for R beams 9R and B beams 9B are regulated independently, so that exact correction of horizontal misconvergence can be performed at central and peripheral parts of a screen.
