PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the number of constituting parts, by a method wherein, in a printer the, motion of a solenoid causes rocking of a leaf spring, positioning of a web, and opening of a web passage. CONSTITUTION:When a solenoid 27 is in an OFF-state, a plunger 28 is moved backward through the force of a spring, the one end part 24a of of a leaf spring 24 secured to the one end of a link member 26 is engaged with a recessed part 21a in the upper surface of a web support member 21 to shut off a conveyance passage 30 of a web 22, and a web press part 24b is separated away from a conveyance roller 23. With this state, the web 22 progressed within the conveyance passage 30 is brought into contact with a web stopper part 24a of the leans spring 24 for positioning. With a solenoid 27 excited through detection of the contact therebetween, the leans spring 24 is rotated, the one end part 24a is separated away from the conveyance passage 30, a press part 24b presses the web 22 against the conveyance roller 23, and sheet are fed through rotation of the conveyance roller 23. This constitution enables sharp reduction of the number of constituting parts, and facilitates assembly.
