PURPOSE:To make it possible to identify the content of display easily and surely by providing a display device with a luminescent element that corresponds to information on every hour and driving those luminescent elements selectively according to the content of display of the display device. CONSTITUTION:When a key 16 to start cooking is pressed down, a control section 40 energizes a relay 42. When the relay 42 is energized, a contact point 42a is turned ON, and a magnetron 38 conducts an oscillating action. During cooking the control section 40 counts the elapse of time and displays the residual time for coking by a display device 14, and at the same time an element 26 to notify the time of cooking displayed on the display device 14 becomes luminescent. Afterward, when the residual time of cooking becomes zero, the control section 40 stops energizing the relay 42 and at the same time clears the display of the display device 14. On the other hand when a clock key 'CLOCK. is pressed down, the display device 14 displays the current time. At the same time an element 25 to notify the displayed time becomes luminescent and it is reported that it is a time display.
