PURPOSE:To reduce the dust concentration within a magnetic disk device in a short time by providing an air filter having high dust collecting efficiency and another air filter having low dust collecting efficiency and high filtering resistance into a flow path of the air current produced by revolutions of a magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic disk 2 starts its revolutions, the dust produced when a magnetic head 3 rubs the disk 2 before the head 3 floats up is mixed up with the matters that are attached to the surfaces of parts in a magnetic disk device before the disk 2 is started and floats in the air by the wind or vibrations. Thus the dust concentration is increased within the magnetic disk device. Thus an air filter 5 having low filtering resistance is used to increase the filtering frequency of the air within the disk device with large air flow and to reduce the increased dust concentration down to the original value. However the deleting efficiency is low with the dust of minute grain sizes. In this respect, an air filter 6 having high dust collecting efficiency is used to eliminate those fine dust. As a result, a satisfactory cleaning degree is kept to the low floating value of the magnetic head.
