PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and repeated use characteristics of a photosensitive body by incorporating one of specified diphenylthiophenes in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer 20 is formed by coating a conductive substrate 1 with a dispersion obtained by dispersing an electric charge generating material 3 into a solution of a binder, such as polyester, and as a charge transfer material 5 at least one of the diphenylthiophenes represented by the formula shown on the right in which each of R1-R4 is H, halogen, alkyl, or the like. In addition, the negatively chargeable type photosensitive layer 21 may be formed by successively laminating a charge generating layer 4 containing the material 3, and a charge transfer layer containing the material 5, or the positively chargeable type photosensitive layer 22 may be formed by reversing the order of the layer 4 and the layer 5, and forming a surface covering layer 7 on the layer 4, when needed. |
