PURPOSE:To inexpensibly obtain Al clad steel with the satisfactory quality by supplying Al cladding material to a rolling mill in a heating state with a specific temperature and besides, rolling and cladding it under the condition that the total draft of the clad material satisfies a specific formula. CONSTITUTION:Carbon steel base metal 1 in a temperature state in which thin scales are not generated even in an air atmosphere and on the other hand the Al cladding material 2 in a state being headed to 350-550 deg.C by being heated with a heating furnace 3 are superposed and afterward, supplied to rolling rolls 4 and 4' and rolled and clad there to form the clad material 5. In this case, the base metal 1 and the cladding material 2 are rolled and clad under the condition that the total draft (r) of the clad material 5 satisfies the inequality I wherein T is made to the temperature deg.C at the inlet side of the rolling mill of the Al cladding material. In this way, the Al/carbon steel clad material with the satisfactory joining strength without being accompanied by the surface coloring or the deterioration of the joining property is obtained with high efficiency. |
