In a disc filter for the hydraulics in mining, the hydraulic fluid is directed, in a housing (1), axially towards the end face of a disc-filter insert (18), deflected, in front of the latter, outwardly to all sides at a baffle element (14) and guided through passages (11) into an annular space (12) which surrounds a disc-filter insert (18), subjected to a throughflow from the outside inwards. The passages (11) are inclined out of the cross-sectional plane towards the annular space (12) and set opposite to the radial direction. A twist is thus imparted to the hydraulic fluid, so that it rotates in the annular space. The dirt particles, which are heavier than the hydraulic fluid, are deposited on the wall of said annular space and pushed further on the latter until the end, where they collect. The intervals for flushing and exchanging the disc-filter insert are thus extended. <IMAGE>
