PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having excellent sliding characteristics without lowering heat-resistance, etc., and suitable as piston ring, etc., by adding a specific amount of silicon carbide powder, etc., having specific particle diameter to a thermoplastic aromatic polymer containing amide group and/or imide group. CONSTITUTION:A resin composed mainly of a thermoplastic aromatic polymer containing amide group and/or imide group (e.g. aromatic polyamide resin, aromatic polyamide imide, etc.) is compounded with (A) 3-35wt.% silicon car bide powder having an average particle diameter of 0.1-15mum and (B) 3-35wt.% graphite powder having an average particle diameter of 0.1-30mum.
