PURPOSE:To aim at prevention of seizure of binding and abatement in abrasion, by spraying a lubricant directly onto a sliding contact surface between a rocker arm and a cam, and forming an oil film on this sliding contact surface. CONSTITUTION:In a camshaft 2, there are provided with low-speed cams 3a and 3b and a high-speed cam 4 as one body, and each of these low-speed cams 3a and 3b is slidingly contacted with cam slippers 5a and 7a on top of both first and third rocker arms 5 and 7, and the high-speed cam 4 with a cam slipper 6a on top of a second rocker arm 6 at each outer circumferential surface, respectively. Two oil feed pipes 14 and 15 are set up in an upper part of the camshaft 2, and the oil feed pipe 14 supplies lubricating oil to journal parts 21 and 22 solidly formed in the camshaft 2 via passages 19 and 20, while it sprays the lubricating oil to these low-speed cams via nozzles 18a and 18b. The oil feed pipe 15 directly supplies the lubricating oil to a sliding contact surface between the high-speed cam 4 and the cam slipper 6a via branch pipes 23 and 24 and nozzles 25 and 26. |
