APPARATUS FOR FORETELLING BREAKDOWN OF SLOPE

PURPOSE:To foretell the breakdown of a slope, by fitting a ring-shaped conductive elastomer over the outer periphery of the stake-shaped support embedded in the soil of the slope. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus A is constituted of a support 1 and a conductive elastomer 2. The support 1 is made of a synthetic resin and formed into a conical shape at the upper end part thereof in order to be easily driven into the soil of a slope. Conductive rubber of which the electric resistance value R is reduced with the increase in strain quantity S is formed to the conductive elastomer 2 in a ring form. Further, ring-shaped metal electrodes 5 are respectively arranged to the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the conductive elastomer 2 in a contact state and inserted in a ring-shaped insulator 7 through a lead wire 6 and adhered to the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the ring-shaped recessed part of the insulator 7 to constitute a stress/strain detector 8. When the movement of earth and sand is generated in the slope, the conductive elastomer 2 receives the movement of earth and sand to be distorted and the electric resistance value thereof lowers to allow a connected alarm to emit an alarm and the breakdown of the slope can be foretold.
