1,201,748. Glove boxes. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. 6 May, 1969 [17 May, 1968], No. 23097/69. Heading B4Q. A glove box 1, which may be surrounded by shielding 3, has a transfer chamber 9 sealed at its two ends by doors 12, 13. Scavenging air is drawn through the glove box by suction applied at a pipe 26 whereby the interior 2 of the glove box is maintained at sub-atmospheric pressure. The air is taken in at a filter 17 and flows in a circuit comprising pipe 19, chamber 9, pipe 22, filter 18, the interior 2, filter 23, pipe 24, filter 25 and the pipe 26. A baffle 20 directs the air against the inner surface of door 13 to clean its surface When door 12 is opened the air flows directly into the interior 2 and by-passes the filter 18, the reduced resistance to flow causing an increase in the flow rate. Similarly, when door 13 is opened the air flows directly into the chamber 9 and by-passes the filter 17 to increase the flow rate.
|
