PURPOSE:To improve the stability of the coefficient of friction, by connecting bulked carbon fibers with carbon, and forming a friction material. CONSTITUTION:Carbon fibers 2 are bulked and bundles of carbon fibers 2 are connected with carbon to form a friction material. Therefore, since numerous spaces 3 are formed, and the porousness rate is increased, the water absorption property of the friction material is improved. As a result, no water film is made over the friction surface, and the stability of the coefficient of friction is improved.
