PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of the divergent vibration of a rotating body for reduction in its energy loss, and make bearings dry and an atmosphere clean by providing the central part of a rotating base body with a hollow part along its axial center line, and sealedly charging damping material in the hollow part. CONSTITUTION:The axial center part of a rotating body 11 is provided with a hollow part 12 along its axis, and the hollow part 12 is charged with damping material 13 composed of particles formed of small diametral balls or powdered material, and blocked by a blocking bolt 14. In this case, when unstabilizing power cased by magnetic bearings 2a, 2b acts so as to vibrate a rotating body 10, the damping material 13 is shaked to cause internal friction for the absorption of energy. The occurrence of divergent vibration can be therefore prevented for reduction in energy loss, and the bearings are dried, and an atmosphere is cleaned. Thus the rotating body can be used under vacuum condition.
