PURPOSE:To reduce and stabilize a period of time for assembly and to make a confirmation of an abnormal condition easily, by opening a shutter disposed in confrontation with a ring groove supported by a support portion a stationary guide for mounting a piston ring. CONSTITUTION:When a shutter 4 closes to reduce a force for moving a piston ring 2 upwardly, a piston is set to a support portion 1a of a guide cone, and when the shutter 4 opens, the piston ring 2 is entered into a ring groove 6a by a contraction force to be assembled. Next, when the shutter 4 closes, the piston 6 is taken out and the upward moving force is changed to a high pressure for lifting the piston ring a pitch and then the upward moving force is made to a low pressure to complete a cycle, which reduces a necessary period of time and fixes a guide dimension (h+alpha) for causing the piston ring 2 to enter into the ring grooves 6a for improving accuracy. When assembly is not effected normally, the shutter 4 is insufficiently closed and the piston 6 cannot be pull out by the action of a plate 3 and the shutter 4, which permits a confirmation to be made in a double mode. |
