PURPOSE:To improve the recognizing/processing performance for binary image by obtaining easily plural hierarchical binary images having different image resolutions. CONSTITUTION:An overall control part 7 sends an action start signal 71 to a structure picture production part 4 and then an action start signal 72 to a binarization part 5 after the reception of an action end signal 41. Then the part 7 sends an action start signal 73 to a structure image reduction part 6 after the reception of an action end signal 52 and then sends the signal 72 again to the part 5 after the reception of an action end signal 62. These operations are repeated to check whether the binary images are obtained or not up to a prescribed hierarchy. Then the procedure completes at a time point when all hierarchy binary images are written into a hierarchical binary image memory part 3. |
