PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality images, by disposing heat generating elements on the upstream side, with respect to a paper-feeding direction, of the position at which a pressure roller and a main body of a thermal head make contact with each other when the rotation of the roller is stopped. CONSTITUTION:Heat generating elements 7 are disposed at a position spaced upward, with respect to a paper-feeding direction, by a distance P from the point T at which a pressure roller 2 in a stationary state and a main body 6 of a thermal head make contact with each other. When a right lower part of a main body 4 of the roller 2 is deformed into a swollen shape as indicated by a solid line under the actions of mutual pressing forces, friction and the like between the main body 4 of the roller and the thermal head 5, the swollen part 4a of the main body 4 of the roller 2 is firmly pressed against the heat generating elements 7. Then, a paper fed between the roller 2 and the thermal head 5 from the upstream side is pressed against the heat generating elements 7 by the swollen part 4a of the main body 4 of the roller 2, and make close contact with the elements 7 securely and stably. Consequently, a clear image can be formed on the paper without troubles such as ununiformity of density and blurring. |
