PURPOSE:To temporarily make an old roll unit placable and to mechanically perform the attachment and detachment of a roll chock even in the case of body of different roll shape and roll chock shape by installing a roll unit temporary placing base at both ends of a recombination device. CONSTITUTION:When the fitting of a roll chock is completed and a new roll unit is formed, the new roll unit is transported to a temporary placing base 8 by a crane. Meanwhile, the old roll is removed by a crane from an old cradle 1 and in parallel thereto the old roll unit to be recombined next is placed by a crane on the roll unit temporary placing base 8 at the opposite side. In this case, owing to the roll unit temporary placing base 8 being capable of moving far and near by the action of a hydraulic cylinder, the positional adjustment is possible according to the length of the roll to be placed. The working efficiency is thus increased by performing the attachment and detachment of the roll chock mechanically even in the case of those which are different in a roll shape and roll chock shape. |
