PURPOSE:To elongate the life of a battery, by a method wherein a heated body is heated by a heater that is supplied electric power from the battery and generates heat, at the same time the heat is accumulated in a heat accumulator, and the supply of electrical power from the battery to the heater is stopped during a period for which discharge of heat from the heat accumulator is possible so as to recover electromotive force of the battery. CONSTITUTION:A heat accumulator 3 is kept at a temperature of about 40 deg.C until a liquefaction starting point A1 to all liquefaction point A2 and then the liquefaction is advanced. Upon reaching to the full liquefaction point A2, a thermal accumulation action is eliminated and a temperature of the heat accumulator 3 is rapidly increased. After this full liquefaction point A2, a supplying of electrical power of a planer heater 4 is turned off to terminate a heating operation, resulting in that the heat accumulator 3 may discharge heat toward a human body to cool it. Upon reaching to a transformation point 40 deg.C of heat accumulation agent, a solidification is started from the point B1 while discharging heat. As the full solidification point B2 is reached, a cooling action is rapidly advanced, an electrical power is added to the planer heater 4 upon passing the full solidification point B2 so as to heat the heat accumulator 3.
