<p>Plastics material of ABS, or glass-fibre reinforced epoxy resin is electroplated with Cu or Ni, further covered by Ag or Au. Used for prodn. of radar antennae and radio telescopes. The reflector is easily produced by injection moulding or extrusion. Complicated reflectors can be produced by bonding together separate moulded components and have only about one third the weight of metal reflectors and are much cheaper to produce.</p> |
