PURPOSE:To enable a character font to be easily selected and enable the selected character font to be favorably displayed, by controlling a display means according to the result of selection by a character font selecting means, thereby displaying the selected character font. CONSTITUTION:A card-side connector 28 of a memory card 1 is fitted to connector 29 on a main body side of a main body 5. A selection switch 24 of the memory card 1 corresponding to a character font to be selected is operated into an ON state. By this, selection information is inputted to a controlling circuit 6 through a connecting part 25 for the switches, a main body connecting part 31 for input and an input port 7. Character font information on the selected character font is outputted from a controlling circuit 6 through an output port 8, a main body connecting part 32 for output and a connecting part 27 for display, and a light-emitting element 26 indicative of the selected character font is turned ON. As a result, the controlling circuit 6 is enabled to read the selected character font.
