PURPOSE:To enable to stamp a die on a chassis at an appropriate character interval, by providing a moving amount detercting means which comprises a member to be detected provided with identifying parts at predetermined intervals and a detector for detecting the identifying part and which is relatively moved by a predetermined distance when a die-stamping ring is moved by a predetermined distance span. CONSTITUTION:A suspension block 23, a type-selecting block 32 and a die-stamping 17 are separated from a backing metal 38 through rings 43, 44 by a cylinder 41, and thereafter a die stamper is stopped at a predetermined die-stamping position of the chassis 45. Then, a rod of the cylinder 41 is advanced so that the ring 17 and the backing metal 38 are caused to approach each other by moving the suspension block 23, a signal related to the first digit place of a chassis number is fed to a type-selecting motor 15 through a controller, and a type belonging to the ring 17 is faced to the backing metal 38. At this time, the rotational position of the ring 17 is detected by the detector 37, a signal is fed to the controller, the coincidence between a designated die and a set die is confirmed, and the die is stamped. |
