PURPOSE:To reduce the diameter in the radial direction of an edge plate by installing an automatic revolution preventing mechanism between the back surface of the edge plate of a swirl scroll member and the flat surface part of a frame and providing the sealing function between the both surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The vacant chamber of the back surface part of the edge plate 3a of a swirl scroll member 3 is formed into a suction chamber 11 and a sealed back pressure chamber 14 by an Oldham's ring 4 having a sealing part engaged with between a frame 5. A sealing surface 4c is formed on the upper surface of the Oldham's ring 4, and gas is sealed by the contact of a sealing member 4d with the upper surface of the frame 5. Therefore, the need of sealing the back pressure chamber by the wall of the frame is avoided, and the diameter of the edge plate of the swirl scroll member can be reduced.
