A closed tank contains a fixed sieve which separates an inner chamber from an outer chamber. The inner chamber comprises an outlet for cleaned pulp and a rotor which has blades movable in the vicinity of the sieve. The outer chamber comprises a helical wall providing it with the shape of a helical channel which is wrapped around the sieve and extends from a pulp inlet to a waste outlet controlled by a gate. The pulp inlet is located in the vicinity of the outlet for cleaned pulp and the waste outlet is located in the vicinity of a wall which is opposite the outlet for cleaned pulp. |
