PURPOSE:To shorten the detection time and improve the detection efficiency by enlarging and displaying an image of a defective part of printed wiring in an image of the distribution state of heat generated at the defect part of the printed wiring. CONSTITUTION:When a short-circuit land is indicated as a result of the use of a conventional inspection device, this printed wiring board 7 is placed within the visual field range of an infrared camera 1, insertion pins 9 and 9' are inserted into through holes in a short-circuit land respectively, and a necessary current is fed from a DC power source 8, so that slight heat is generated at the short-circuit place. This heat radiation is sensed by the detecting element in the camera 1 and displayed on a monitor 5. While an appearing thermogram is adjusted through a video camera 3, the position of a cross point 25 on the monitor 5 is moved and the printed wiring board 7 is moved along the thermogram. Consequently, an enlargement image of each movement is projected on a black-and-white monitor 6, so the short-circuit place can be detected.
