摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous operation of the insertion and taking-out of an ink sheet cassette, by a method wherein a recording head is allowed to reciprocally move between the first position being a recording position and the second position separated therefrom to carry out printing and further moved to the third position further separated from the first position only before and after recording to make it possible to mount and detach the ink sheet cassette. CONSTITUTION:A position where a thermal head 1 contacts with a platen roller 15 through recording paper and an ink sheet is set to the first position and a position separated from the roller 15 and obstructing the insertion and taking-out of an ink sheet cassette 16 is set to the second position and a position further separated from the roller 15 and not obstructing the insertion and taking-out of the cassette 15 is set to the third position and the outputs of sensors 18, 18' are respectively brought to H and L to allow three states among four discriminative states to correspond to the above mentioned three positions. The projection 7a of a fan.shaped gear 7 is separated from a lever 13 when the head are present at the first and second positions but engaged with the lever 13 when the head is moved to the third position to push up the same in an A-direction and a paper press roller 10 is separated from a paper feed roller 9 to release the recording paper.
