PURPOSE:To permit a main coil and an auxiliary coil to be wound directly by a coil winding machine without causing interference with each other, by a method wherein the groove of a slot for the main coil and the groove of a slot for the auxiliary coil are formed so as to have different lengths. CONSTITUTION:A stator core 10 is provided with a circular opening 12 for inserting a rotor, which is bored at the center thereof substantially, and slots 12 for a main coil as well as the slots 13 for an auxiliary coil, which are provided alternately on the rim of the circular opening 11. The slots 12 for main coil are arranged at the summits of a square so as to be opposed and are provided with grooves extending from the rim of the circular opening 11 to the vicinities of the summits of the slots. The slots 13 for auxiliary coil are arranged so as to be opposed to the four sides of the square and the grooves therefore are formed so as to have lengths shorter than the same of said slots 12. According to this method, the main coil and the auxiliary coil may be wound directly by a coil winding machine.
